The best: ribeye, brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, steak sauces, cocktails, dessert (passion fruit bombe), and service that I may have EVER experienced in my life. Absolutely incredible dinner at Whitfield. The steak was seemed a bit overpriced from a distance, but when you consider the portion size and the quality it's well worth every penny. Bring a friend! Very hip place, although noisy. The **** Mary is top notch. Get the pastrami hash. Amazing.
Appetizers were good. I had the short ribs with a ricotta pancake. It could probably use another pancake as the short rib was a nice portion. My son had the jelly toast. Very tasty and my husband had the duck mouse for me it was ok although he really enjoyed it. Entrees my husband and I had the duck, very tasty although I thought my portion was significantly smaller than his. And my son had the bass which he really enjoyed. Overall a very nice dinner. Drinks were good as well. Attentive service and good vibe.
Awesome experience! Our waiter was ridiculously knowledgeable of the menu and steered us in the right direction. We had the ribeye steak and it was one of the best steaks we ever had. It beat any of the high end steakhouses you all know. Can not wait to go back!
Ate here last night for a late dinner after an awful day. We were traveling through Pittsburgh on our way to Detroit for a funeral service from D.C. We'd spent all day at the airport in DC and sat through hours of delays until our flight was ultimately canceled. All buses and trains were booked, so driving was our only option. We were exhausted and stopped in PGH for a meal and to rest. Everyone at Whitfield was so friendly and just plain nice...the meal was also fantastic. I don't think they realized how much we really needed a nice ending to the day, but it was great.
