What Vic T doesn't like about Casa Maxou:
Officially the worst burger I've had in Costa Rica. Raw beef, soggy bun, expensive and fries tasted like they were made yesterday and microwaved today. Very disappointing. I just don't understand how someone can ruin a burger so bad. It's time to get out of the kitchen! I know it sounds harsh, but come on, you're serving raw burger in the tropic climate it's inexcusable. View all feedback.

I ordered the Maxou burger with fries and lemonade which cost 6,600 Colones. The burger was raw in the middle, the bun extremely soggy from all the gross sauce...

"Avoid this place like the plague. The owner was extremely rude and unpleasant. She made us wait 45 minutes for our food. I normally wouldn't say anything but we had to drive back to San Jose to catch a flight home. We tried to be as polite as possible when we asked for our food but she just kept yelling at us and told us we shouldn't be complaining and the food ended up being awful. The owner really was over the top rude and unpleasant. Samara is a beautiful town filled with extremely nice people. But I would skip this bakery far better choices with good and edible food and better service."

"Family of four, including two children, arrived on an early August late afternoon, 45 minutes before sunset. No one else was at the restaurant. Needless to say the views are stunning and worth the drive up from Samara through 30 minutes of mountain dirt roads. As other reviewers have said, the views are the attraction but the drinks and food served alongside were the best since leaving La Fortuna. From the hammock and swinging chairs, the chirping birds, howling monkeys, delicious food and drinks with very reasonable prices along with the sun slowly plunging into the sea over the course of our meal this is one of those experiences we will remember forever."
