"After trying nearly all the restaurants in one go in Ponte De Sor, nothing beats Olivenca in traditional Portuguese cuisine. Costs an average of per person if you’re not well acquainted with the place and it’s “cheap perks” since none of the staff speak...English and it’s a hassle to translate the handwritten menu. Just go for any of the “Preto” pork and the sea food ceramic pot. They charge you for bread baskets and light appetizers though. Also go for the Pork scratchings and the mushroom specialty"

"Travelling with a 2y and 8mo old kids, we needed a place to have a fast dinner, and this ended up to be perfect. Staff was very nice, efficient and helpful. Nice menu with some good, nicelly cooked, tradicional Alentejo food, but also good simple options. Prices are adequate. Even though it was not our setting, looks like a good place to come with a group of friends and share some petiscos over a nice glass of wine or beer."

"This was quite a pleasant occasion. The menu at first appears to be a bit pricey, but turned out to the contrary. This is due to the fact that the prices include, as a starter, a complimentary board of cheese and various sausages, olives, bread. Also, desserts are reasonably priced, as is the jug of anonymous but totally drinkable red wine. We chose the beef and prawn skewer, and grilled cuttlefish. The former arrived as a very impressive, large skewer, that resembled an engineered structure. The beef was very tender the best I've had in years and nicely seasoned to yield excellent flavour. The prawns were commendable in size and also tasty. This came with a side salad. The cuttlefish was accompanied by an onion salad that we liked very much, and both dishes included some potatoes and another tasty starch that I am not able to name, but may have been bread based. The only criticism I can make is that the cuttlefish, surprisingly, seemed to lack any seasoning at all. This is very unusual for a Portuguese dish of this type, and it almost makes me wonder if they simply forgot to add it when cooking. But never mind, it did not spoil the meal, which was otherwise very good. The creme caramel and creme brulee desserts were no larger than necessary, and quite tasty. The total meal came to just over 40€, which represents surprising value for this level of eatery. Definitely recommended."
