"I went to this restaurant a couple of weeks ago with my boyfriend. The place is not very large but it is well looked after, the style is of an old tavern where you left your heart as a child. While we were choosing from the menu (which is very short, made especially for undecided people like me) they started bringing us a glass of prosecco and a small platter with cured meats and delicacies. While we were enjoying this entreé, one of the waiters came to list the off-menu items for the day. In the end I had the pumpkin and nettle ravioli (they give you the option of making half and half) with butter: spectacular; My boyfriend had the anolini with speck ragù: the end of the world! And secondly, so as not to miss anything, a nice portion of divided tripe. Very good! Another gem of the place: when it was time for coffee they brought us, along with the coffees, also a small plate with biscuits, two mandarins and some dried fruit. I felt at home. In short, all this to say that if you pass through Piacenza, do the TRE GANASCE stage, you won't regret it!! Parking: Just a 5 minute walk away is the main road via Alessio Tramello (near the Farnesian walls) which has free parking on the side. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Anolini Spadellati Con Sugo Di Speck, Ravioli Alla Zucca E Ortiche Parking options: Free street parking"

"Having tried many local restaurant this is the bench mark that the others have to reach. None ever make it though. The food served is the best seasonal local dishes. Which my biased opinion are arguable the best in Italy but this is Italy so arguing opinions over food and wine is the norm. The house wine is from the family vineyards so its the best this pretty valley can offer. If there is ever a hidden gem of a restaurant then this is it. The outdoor dining area in spring or autumn is optimal, not that the indoor is unpleasant but it loses the wow factor of the beautiful views from the balcony overlooking this stunning valley. I can recommend the home made from a secret family recipe Tortelli which are cooked in butter. These are made from a very light pasta and shaped like the twisted ended commercially made italian wrapped sweets so locally they are known as Caramelli These just melt in the mouth but beware they are very rich and not good for your diet or cholesterol but if life is worth living then you have to try them at least once. If your in the locality and you dont visit this place you have really missed out."

"An Italian friend took us here for lunch years ago, and my husband and I regularly dream about their salumi and their gnocco fritto. So of course we had to stop by on our way to Parma. There is no menu to speak of. The few dishes they serve are written on a chalkboard and hung in the room. After three days in Alba, we kept our lunch relatively light a basket of gnocco fritto, formaggi and salumi. We savored every bite. I was sorry I didn't have a chance to try their tortellini with porcini mushrooms, which a lot of people around us were enjoying. What we didn't realize last time (because we were with Italian friends) was how friendly and warm the service is. Almost no one spoke English, but they spoke slowly enough that we could understand the gist of what they were saying and their boisterous warmth was easy to pick up on. In a room full of locals, they made us feel warm and welcome. You won't regret coming here. Highly highly recommend it."
