"On arrival, we were offered a choice of tables for two and on sitting, we ordered aperitifs which were served promptly allowing us to peruse the menu. Fred, the owner, approached us to help us understand the menu which was very helpful as our French is not great. This eased our choices with my wife choosing the pork carpaccio and me the Foie Gras. Well, with regards to my wife’s choice, it was not carpaccio as we would have expected but based on my wife’s look of amazement and given the bit I tasted, it was, in my wife’s words, ‘innovative’ and taste wise we both felt it was superb. Likewise, my Foie Gras served with figs, was also excellent. For the mains, we both went with the venison which was cooked to perfection and, with the accompaniments, again led us both to say, wow, this is great. Things were helped along by an excellent Côtes de Roussillon which we enjoyed as a great partner to the food. The description of the food above does not do justice to their quality so can only reiterate that they were up there with some of the best meals we have ever had. Oh, and we must not forget Fred who was very attentive, friendly and informative throughout our meal. Will we be back. DEFINITELY!"
