So happy, El Masry tried! Best Egyptian food in Portland! We had lamb gyros and they were delicious soft pita bread, a generous part of well seasoned meat, delicious tzatziki sauce with fresh vegetables. You even have great homemade hot sauce if you like to season it a bit! The owner Gharib is the nicest guy and was very sweet to my 3 year old daughter who loves Egypt. So happy, El Masry tried! Best Egyptian food in Portland! You even have great homemade hot sauce if you like to season it a bit! The owner Gharib is the nicest guy and was very sweet to my 3 year old daughter who loves Egypt. It can sometimes be a little picky, but enjoyed the lamb and rice he made for them together with some beautifully cooked french fryers. You feel like a family there and we enjoyed chatting with Gharib, listening to his wife and children and enjoying great food. Would definitely recommend!
Greetings before we started! The chicken gyro, Steak Philly and chicken philly were amazing! They even had a shaded area for us to sit and eat. Definitely the next time I'm in Portland.
One of the best places to eat in the city! The first time I didn't expect much, but I was really surprised how authentic and good their food is! I am Egyptian myself and it was almost impossible to find authentic, tasty Egyptian food in Portland until I tried AlMasry. The food is delicious with the right amount of spices, the portions are generous and the prices are very affordable. I tried her gyros, Saj and plates and I love especially the lamb beef Saj and her falafel! They make them perfect by using fava beans in the falafel instead of chickpeas; this is the exact and only way this delicious falafel is made in Egypt! I ran into the owner a few times and he is very friendly and beautiful with a great ability to delicious authentic Egyptian and Middle Eastern recipes! I strongly recommend that you try this locally owned food truck! I went once and went every week or two of them. It is a truly hidden gem right in downtown Portland; and I hope that its expansion into more food carts or larger restaurants in the future.
Beautiful lamb portions in the Saj warp with rich aromas and a delicious sauce that combines everything together.
Amazing food, definitely one of the best food around here Food is fresh and tasty. Fast preparation, fresh food and very clean Definitely recommend this place. I’d say one of the best middle eastern food places in the area I’m sad I did not take pics to attach to the review but definitely will next time to update the review
