What User doesn't like about Mcmenamins St. Johns Theater Pub:
the dead were more crumbling than kartoffels. service tried to be funny, but came from rude to be honest and my overall experience didn't let me come back to this place. that is, I enjoy most other mcmenamins close by. View all feedback.
This was a really nice cozy place to take a drink or see a movie in the theatre. Mcmenamins hasn't let me down yet.
Cool old church with large outdoor space. Great local brunch spot. Signature drinks/beer/whine ... odd/unique decor, and cheap movies... make for an Awesome local hangout. Ask them about their passports too... you can get stamps for visiting all of the McMenamins. Update! June 19, 2020. They are sanitizing tables in between customers and providing an extra coaster to cover your beverage.
I’ve walked past this place several times, had no idea it had an upstairs, a movie theater, and such a cute patio. Who knew there was so much greatness packed into this historic building! Love it… and the food and drinks are great too!
Spent the morning getting our hike on in Forest Park and the Zoo. Needed solid refreshments and decided to give our fav a try for the first time in a long while. Excited that we not only found parking but seating right away too! Getting a few different beers between the group all tasty of course. And the ever delicious tots two ways. Cajun and naked!
Saw a movie at the theater which is gorgeous under the dome with ornate sculptures, pictures and eclectic decorative touches along the walls, consistent with the appearance of the pub portion of the building. The theater for the inexpensive price and historical feel is just fine. The seats are comfortable, but not tiered or sloped so the risk of a hindered view is possible on a crowded night. The popcorn was stale, but other than that it was a very enjoyable movie-going experience!
