I usually come here to grab pad Thai to go, or sit at one of the tables there. The place itself is a small market and not a traditional sit down place to eat. The crab Rangoon and Thai rolls are great too. The tum yum has a great authentic flavor. Don’t expect table service. It’s a pay up front place, then take your food. You can also ask for spicer dishes if you want. I usually get level 3 (out of 4) spice on my pad... View all feedback.
What Christophe Parisian doesn't like about Vientiane Market:
Honestly, I rarely give low stars, but today I've to. This was the worst Thai food I every had. Curry was more of water instead of green curry and they served last night's rice. Quality of food was very low, in same price range there are lot other Thai restaurants which gives decent quality food. Really disappointed. View all feedback.
Always great the type of place DDD should visit Pad Thai satay chicken basil and spring rolls are on every trip to Portland You know it’s good when portlands finest frequents it Also reasonably priced and stock up On staples not available in chain stores
This restaurant is amazing, and I've been coming here for years. The small, unassuming market should be featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Their Pad Thai, crispy basil, curries, and satay are all fantastic. Make sure to try the fresh spring rolls and pick up all the ingredients you need to make great food at home, like tamarind paste, etc.
Best value in Portland. This is my go to-take out. Great family run business with reliably good food
This is one of our favorite places to get takeout. Delicious reasonably priced! Well-stocked market crafts as well. Super friendly every time!!
This little neighborhood market is off the main drag of Brighton Ave, so if you're not a local, you might not even know it's there. I got lunch (and dinner) to go the tom yum soup, the pad thai, and the basil beef stir fry. The soup wasn't the best I've ever had, but the pad thai and basil beef were very good. The menu prices are some of the lowest I've found for Thai food in the Portland area it's more of a market than a restaurant so it was a pretty good deal, especially for the portions.
