Lovely restaurant we had great service, the one waitress was a bit brusque and the other one was really good and understanding spoke English as we struggled with Portuguese! The food was good. View all feedback.
What GuilhermeVaz doesn't like about Vila Alencastre:
Strange way to go into the restaurant; within an abandoned or in-construction apartment condominium. But apart from that the food was good, the service was good and it was well priced. Traditional Portuguese/Madeira food. It worth a visit but don’t be discouraged with the way in… View all feedback.
Haven’t ever reviewed before , but this resturant although small and out of the way , serves absolutely fantastic food , I had grilled limpets followed by octopus, never had limpets before A bit like eating winkles yet nice in garlic butter Octopus was done in oil and was the best I’ve had and I’ve eaten octopus on many occasions in some very alcarte resturants It was tender and well presented and absolutely delicious , a must visit if going to Porto Santo
We’ve been trying to several restaurants in both Madeira and Porto Santo and this one stood out for us both in food and in service. Waiters were very friendly and brightened our evening. Overall very pleased!
We turned up looking for anywhere that would take us on a day that most restaurants had closed, but we were delighted with what we found. The serving staff were friendly and accommodating, and the ambience was lovely. The multiple visitors who were clearly regulars was testament to the quality of the restaurant. The mixed grill and the cordon bleu (pork! we’re very tasty however, the highlight was certainly the desserts. Cream lime pie, chocolate cake, and apple crumble that were so good, we ordered all three! Highly recommend
It’s not even August and the employees are only 2. Called twice to order and both refused as they were too busy both on the same table. It took 45 min until we were able to order something to drink and a starter. It’s not the employee’s fault but they are the ones facing the clients. This was my first time here and it will be my last. Porto Santo faces lack of manpower in hospitality but we have to consider the other side: How good are the conditions the owners offer to their employees…
