st. john’s was a common stop when I was at the weekend in the opposite. while the donuts are big, I go in the rule for the eccles cake, or, for a little more food, some of the other options on the breakfast menu, like the lamming. at my last visit I confirmed that everything was as usual great; nice service, cozy feeling and great aromas from cooking and baking. I had heard so much about St John’s Bakery infamous custard doughnuts and my visit was long overdue. Last Saturday I managed to drag Sam out of bed at according to him, a “god-earthly hour” and down to Maltby Street Market to get our hands on some.
