Wonderful proper roasted coffee. Sausage rolls light and full of taste, whichever chosen, and so different from the rest of the market. An interesting range of cakes too, all made in house, delicious. It was great to have a proper conversation with the barista/owner, instead...of feeling he was just agreeing with us, because we were the customer. Went days in a row, we liked the coffee so much. A great addition to Machynlleth.
The owners are clearly people with a passion for good coffee, who have taken seriously sourcing and roasting quality coffee beans to create great coffee. The store is currently set up for COVID restrictions, which means there is no seating inside but there are a...few tables outside. We were a little late in the day, but were disappointed not to be able to try some of the cakes that come highly recommended (we had to palm the kids off with pastries from the bakery instead The coffee was good and the owners were very welcoming and chatty. I think some of the previous reviewers may be missing a sense of humour. Yes, the owners are not typical of the area, but we found them to be a quirky couple who are interested in finding out about the people who visit their coffee shop. We had a bit of banter and a good conversation learning about their back story and us sharing a little of ours, also gaining a few recommendations for the rest of our day. Go for the good coffee, don't get offended by the chat.
Quality is the name of the game here! The guy who served us was also genuinely interested in how we were, and offered us some great local advice for our holiday. This is a proper coffee shop, where I was pleased to see a Cortado...on the menu. Will definitely be returning next time we're in Machynlleth.
Locally sourced, excellently prepared fresh ingredients, resulting in delicious food. Quirky with locally crafted crockery. Best coffee in the area. Thank you.
I popped in a number of times whilst cycling in the area. The coffee was absolutely top notch and the oat flapjack fruity and moist. Glad to see the roastery was open and able to operate despite the Covid restrictions. The allure of the cafe...next door was the outside seating but the coffee does just not compare. The Dyfi roasts on the premises and the results are in the tasting. This place is not to be missed if you are in the area and expect the highest standard in the flavour of your coffee. Some poor reviews on this site moaned about the price, they probably drink camp coffee with evaporated milk at home and live in another world.
