The French market is our favorite place! You feel so welcome and like you are actually in a French cafe. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere are excellent. It is a non-pretentious place that feels at once to the earth and imagination. It's even cheap! We recommend 100% the French market! View all feedback.
What Jesse McCookie doesn't like about French Market:
Good food (though the country bread they used was rather greasy) and nice place. Confusing for your first time though. We wanted to have lunch at the bar but signs everywhere said you must order up front before sitting, so we walked up, ordered, mentioned the bar but were told we can’t sit only order a drink because it’s full-service….I’d suggest adding to your sign “unless you eat at the bar” then...unfortunately fo... Did the woman take this for a nice meal date. Was alittle busy and crowded during the lunch break. We sat outside since the weather was nice. Had the crispy chicken sandwich with Hanna frits. Wife had the Ham sandwich. Both were delicious.
This is like a small grocery store and restaurant combines business. I have some good things from both sides. A bowl of soup, a sandwich and a salad ordered for lunch. They all taste good. Not sure how French they are. I think this is like a big Potbelly sandwich or Panera Bread-ish square. We also have some take-out cooled food plates from the food side. You look pretty good, but you have no chance to try them. You have many French food items on this page. You also have a small corner that makes cheese and meat as you order them. Overall, I find it a good place to take a quick bite with friends.
Always top notch. Live music on Saturday. Large selection of handmade cheese, bread and jams. Great in the home menu for lunch or dinner. Oh, and then the pear is old-fashioned. Hands down one of the best I had in KC.
My daughter introduced me to this gem of a store. Great breakfast and wonderful pastries along with a great selection of cheese and sausage, prepared foods, made in house, and of course cookbooks. Also the best mocha i have had.
