the food was good and the service was pretty good. the dinning room had a lot of people dining room and the servers did their best
eating is amazing, lodge is beautiful, service was simply okay. if I pay so much for eating and I also type well, I expect the service is also excellent.

"Visiting from MN and the Old Saloon was on our list. Obviously a cool old building, love the original bar back. I worked in an early 1900s bar for years and those sticky drawers and cooler doors just make me smile. We stopped in 3 or 4 times throughout our visit and every time was great. This is definitely a locals spot, we recognized a few patrons from previous visits. But don't let that deter you, you'll still be welcome. The food and service are excellent. Definitely elevated bar grub- poutine fries, deep fried pickles, the giant porkie sandwich. And where do you find a bar that doesn't serve a house salad with wilted romaine and bagged shredded cheese? Old Saloon. It was all delicious. The drink selection is great, especially for a hometown bar. Our bartender, Leigh, was phenomenal and friendly and makes a killer old fashioned. We can't wait to return this summer!"

"We drove out of the way to come here to eat with our kids since they were one of the few places still open after 9pm. We discovered it was a bar and when we got there at 9pm, and they were no longer serving food. Nothing on their site said they were mainly a bar and it was advertised as a restaurant. It took several minutes just to get that info from someone behind the bar after I just stood there staring at them. They could have easily gotten a better review had they been informative about what they offer and acknowledge someone when they come into your establishment. I can't speak to the food quality because we didn't get that far before we left."
