Have to admit that these were some of the best moules we've had in a long time.Very popular lunch-time restaurant, both with drivers and diners coming to the aire just for lunch.Their moules et frites a volonté come with a small cheese and dessert course, additional moules were offered but to be honest the large pot we each received was sufficient. All at a cost of €16,50 was most enjoyable. View all feedback.

We had been looking for a restaurant that would conveniently fit into our schedule for a trip to the airport at Limoges and literally stumbled across this large wooden cabin by the side of the road. What a find! Friendly propriétaires with a menu du jour comprising a well stocked charcuterie and salad buffet, main meal, cheese, dessert, glass of wine and coffee all for under 14 euros. A real mixture of customers from sedate retired couples to workmen and lorry drivers all enjoying the delightful ambiance.
We visited this restaurant on a busy Saturday lunchtime in August. Reservation for the modules is essential. It was very hot, we were outside very close to a road which was, due to the day & season, quite busy and therefore very noisy. However that said, the food was excellent, the service too even though it was a busy time. It is a very convenient spot for visitors to break their journey as there is too plenty of parking and some shade. As I didn't pay the bill unfortunately I cannot remember if the set price included other that the modules and a dessert.
We have passed this place many times and haven't stopped as it looks more like a road-side cafe rather than a restaurant. It was in the right location for our direction to Charroux so we stopped for an evening meal and were pleasantly surprised at how busy it was and how nice it looked inside and out. There was only one waitress serving, but she did it very well with speed, professionalism and with a beaming smile and an attentive nature. We had two lasagnes and salad, a steak and chips and cocktails with and without alcohol. The food arrived quickly and was displayed well, the atmosphere at the place was quite buzzy and full of holiday spirit and locals were eating there too, it appeared. I would recommend it, I would return and I shall not judge a place by its proximity to the road and a roundabout again! When we paid the bill, the transaction was done by an older man inside and he too was extremely pleasant and it made us want to return. The only slight criticism would be the plastic chairs and tables outside (which were brand new and nice, however) in comparison to the solid wooden furniture inside and the beamed ceiling. I do think that the plastic chairs can be off-putting from a distance at the road but are quite typical in the area so sort of expected too.
