"Everything was great until we got the bill. We had ordered an appetizer and it never came. We weren't really there to eat so we didn't say anything. When the bill came the food was on there. We asked for it to be removed and they insisted we received the food. The bartender then got really mouthy when we called it out. If I would have had cash then I would have only left the money for the drinks. Instead we had to pay for the food so I didn't tip. The bartender then exploded. She went off and we were 86'd from the place. She would have been tipped nicely had she just removed the food. Drinks were amazing but didn't justify the false charge and horrible attitude."

"Food was awesome. They need to work on the manners. Took my daughter here for her birthday. She just got off the plane. Yes, they were busy but we told the waiter this when we sat down. Waiter tried to bring the check before we were served. Then again during dinner. When we were done eating dinner he went to hand us the check and I told him no ........ we still need dessert for my daughter's birthday. He went back to the kitchen and threw the wooden check holder so hard, the whole restaurant heard. Then we waited. Eventually, he tossed the check on the table and very rudely said we don't have candles and we don't have time for this. Those exact words. We just wanted dessert. I left a great tip but they really need to work on just being nice."

"Best place for poke! For the cost to poke ratio, it’s honestly better than going to a restaurant. The deli is a “hidden” gem. Second time back after a year and it’s still just as good. Last time we were here, we tried a couple poke spots but nothing hit the spot like Foodland! Our running “joke” is, “What did you do in Kauai?”, “Oh we just came here for Foodland. Love the shopping, food, and experience at Foodland” Everyone there is super friendly! The key is to be respectful and not come up to someone, like the world revolves around you. Not too sure what people are expecting at any grocery store. I check expiration dates at home every time. Shouldn’t be different here. Also, you’re in Hawaii. Things are going to be expensive compared to most places? And finally, it’s the one of the only places on the north shore that has this type of selection, so you can spend the time and money on gas and go to Lihue for groceries. Either way, it takes something."
