"Kelly the bartender is great! Awesome conversation and she made a great old fashioned and offered advice for places to go in Providence. She makes a mean Old Fashioned too. Great cocktails and beer!"

"I was often with Salted Slate and never disappointed. The menu is carefully designed and each dish is special. Today we went to breakfast and we had Ricotta pancake and salmonier Benedict. The pancakes were decorated with fresh fruits and were amazing. Egg Benedict with salmon had capers and tiny red onions. Our server Ryan was at the bar that made handicraft drinks and it was fascinating to watch him: I wanted to order every single drink he made, but it was too early, especially after the last party. Ryan was professional and funny, cool and composed, you can talk to him about everything and he was able to combine serving, craft drinks and friendly conversation. I wish we could go there every week. Instead we go every other week! Bravo!"

"We enjoyed the 5-course tasting menu very much. the whole course was exceptional, but I especially enjoyed the scallops and pasta courses. every cure was a work of art. our waitress explained every cure in a colorful and informative way. my only negative comment refers to the 20% service fee added to our bill. that's good, except that it seems that it's an expectation to tap on it. I tipped after consulting with our waitress but felt uncomfortable with the process. is 20% added to enough or should I do another20% for good service? after a wonderful meal, the tipping process left a bad taste in my mouth."

"Located in the quick eats alleyway near Brown University of Providence, this place is a gem. This was our first time here and Ray, the owner, is working the line like all of his employees. The man is a staple of the community and gives back in different ways. I 'm not going to get into personal details, but let 's just say that the man shows compassion for his fellow man and no matter how busy they are, he takes a little time to give an encouraging word. I was extremely touched. OK, enough of that, my issue, not yours. Before going there, we walked around and found several eateries that were either empty or had a few people in it. Then we came upon Chinatown on Thayer St. The line was out the door, but moving quickly. We ordered our meals, they were fresh, hot and tasty. The portions were huge and there was no way an average size person could finish it. I had gotten the battered shrimp and he says you want sauce? I said no , he says have you tried it? and hands me a piece w/ sauce on a toothpick. OK give me the sauce. On top of that, Ray throws in a couple of chicken wings onto your plate as well. The place is very clean, with street murals on the walls. It is the perfect place for the location. They will always get my business when I 'm in town. Just don 't eat all day so you can enjoy the portions.I love supporting small business and love seeing when that small business is giving back to the community. I love watching the little guy win and this place is a winner. You can 't get more American than that. Thanks Ray for everything!"
