I had come here on the Saturday before, but found it warm, interesting and flavoursome enough to come back for more. So immediately, just 3 days later, I chugged my wife along for a little lunch date at Barometer, and we were not disappointed. My wife had a lovely berry infused sangria while I had a twist on the classic mojito. We were adventurous and paired the drinks with a spicy take on Varhadi prawns with a hot chilli flavour. I'll admit, that as tasty as it was it shouldn't have been ordered with sangria nor a mojito. Then we ordered the 3 mushroom chicken, which was refreshing and flavoursome. The rosemary seasoning was perfect, although the dried rosemary pieces did tend to stick to my throat. The herbed rice was unnecessary to the dish, more of a Indian addendum to make a continental dish more acceptable. I would have probably liked another chicken piece in its stead. We finished off the meal with a classic brownie with chocolate ganache and ice cream. All in all a wonderful experience, and the best Kothrud has to offer at present.

First impressions of Barometer , near City pride kothrud. Going to a restaurant belonged to a theater fraternity is always special. First, they know how hard people will come to them if they happen to serve something mediocre. Secondly, you are assured that even though you don't like their creation, they wont come hard to you. We were Khaidi no. 1805 and about to experience short term changes on our palates. Location: situated near City pride kothrud and nestled on the corner of Siya, one more restaurant. The restaurant is spacious and atmosphere is friendly. Old Cutlery on the walls look good but couldn't understand the purpose behind. Food: We ordered 1) Malaysian laksa soup: a Thai soup laden with coconut curry, chicken and noodles. Amazingly soothing and flavourful. 2) Warhadi Jhinga: Prawns done in Warhadi thecha and yes, they were spicy! But....not at all disappointing. Detailing to the highest level was very much evident. 3) Harumaki Veg: rice rolls stuffed with veggies. What an amazing dish! So simple and so beautiful! We especially loved the mushroom in it. No single vegetable was overpowering the taste of others. Highly recommended! 4) Drunken cottage cheese: soft chunks of cottage cheese. I usually don't like cottage cheese much but I loved the softness and flovours it had. Mains: 5) Pla Rad Prik: Whole Pomfret in a chilly basil sauce. A Korean dish. We had ordered plain rice along with that as suggested by the captain. Again it was flavourful and consistent. Pomfret was fried and then dipped into the curry. But it was not at all oily. Although it was served with many finely chopped red chillies, it was not at all annoying. 6) Ghee roast mushroom: it's an Indian savoury. Skillfully stuffed mushrooms in dosa served with a white yellowish sauce on top along with veggies on side. The aroma of Curry leaves was very much there. Although little bit on spicier side, we enjoyed this unique preparation. (A chicken variant is also available) Frozen berry sangria: one of the best sangrias I had in Pune. Total bill was 3386 (including taxes)(for 2) First impression was : lovely food but....highly expensive. But....... It was worth investing so much for such lovely and passionately cooked food. Mohit Takalkar: Kya baat Hai! Kudos!!!
