I drive thru a lot and sometimes go in to eat. This place inside needs a real renovation. Holes in the ceiling tile, dirt and grime. Seats are torn and outdated...

"The Cariboo Hotel used to have excellent food. Well, it's not like the good old days that's for sure. My entire meal was awful. I ordered chicken souvlaki. The chicken was bone dry, the greek salad had NO dressing, the rice was aking to packaged Uncle Ben's and was mushy besides. the tzatziki tasted nothing like it should, the pita bread was instead garlic toast and came toasted only on one side. What a disapointment. The waitress, while somewhat snippy did take the meal off the bill (not that I ate my meal...I left hungry). She seemed personally offended that we complained and stated that "No one ever complains here". Over the next few days we heard many people agree that the food was lacking there. I did go a second time since all my friends were going there. I hesitantly ordered a burger and fries. It wasn't terrible. It wasn't great. I was hungry and I ate it. But overall, the Cariboo isn't the great place it once was...now it has good memories and not so good food. A disappointment to be sure."

"I came to this place expecting mediocre, but what I found was the opposite. I ordered a vanilla milkshake and a poutine and sat in the outside area. It took about 7 minutes for my food to come, but it was worth it. It was an excellent milkshake, with whipped cream and a cherry on top. It was nice and cold. Then I tasted the poutine. A nearly perfect combination of french fries, gravy, and cheese curds. I must say it was the second best poutine I ever had. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good lunch or snack."
