Ambiance and decoration are cozy. There are activities that could be done too. Perfect for relaxing or just chilling out to read a good book. Their pastries are tasty. Although their coffee selection is vastly limited, it makes up for the delicious taste. Kinda sad that the branch in San Juan moved to Tomas Morato. :( View all feedback.
What Russell Gottlieb doesn't like about Department of Coffee:
Nice and cozy place along don roces ave. Its a good place to hang out and talk. Unfortunately, poor execution on my latte. Theres a choice for El Salvador, Guatemala or benguet based latte and I got the guatemala. The coffee base was ok but lack of skill with milk frothing was its undoing. The milk was too hot as well. Didn't order much (Average French press, decent truffle pizza with a weird soft dough) but I'll give this place the benefit of the doubt that it has more to offer due to its ambiance and friendly service. I'm curious, at least.
One of our favorite coffee shop along Roces avenue near Tomas Morato. The place looks chill and nice.. If you like studying in a coffee shop then this place is for you! You can really focus because it’s very quiet unlike the other place in Morato. Anyway, last night after our dinner in Tomas... cheffymitchyu.com
Small new cafe with nice functional interiors. A welcome addition for coffee lovers who wants to venture on new taste and flavors. They only use arabica beans of different roasts. Short and simple coffee line up blended with your preferred bean. Good but not the best. And just incase you're looking for more, they also serve cakes, snacks, and a good selection of imported beers.
