"We've visited the place for the first time ever this afternoon (29 Nov 2022 . After a long walk with our dog around the lakes.We were sitting outside because of the dog. Gaultier (I hope I've got it right , our waiter, made sure we were warm and comfortable. He turned on the heating lamps, brought a blanked for my wife, asked if our dog needed some water, etc. Absolutely legend!Our food was served straight away, and it was delicious! Nothing tastes better on cold November afternoon than a bowl of hot chowder! Main dishes were also great, so compliments to the chef!Even though we were the only customers sitting outside, our waiter and other members of staff were constantly checking if we needed anything and if we're comfortable.The service and quality of our food were truly on Michelin star level! Congratulations to the owner and the staff, particularly our waiter, for creating such an amazing dining experience!See you again soon :"

"This historic lodge is tricky to find (it took us a couple of tries) but this charming place is not to be missed. A warm fire, friendly staff and lots of convivial conversation greeted us. We had venison sausage with a delicious onion compote and smoked salmon as a starters. Both were excellent. Our mains were rack of lamb and venison medallions. The lamb could have been a little more pink but was very tasty nonetheless. The venison was tender and rare as requested. A splendid evening and a great meal."

"We had a family gathering of adults and children here recently. I would like to thank all the staff for their brilliant efficient professional service on the day. They could not do enough for us and with a friendly kind service that is hard to come by these days. We had a set menu of four mains and four desserts with tea/coffee to finish . The dishes were amazing and served so efficiently. Huge compliments to your chef for his cullinary talents. He outdone himself. Thank you. This is a must to visit be it breakfast/lunch or dinner you will enjoy."
