"We have been coming to the hotel for years and typically enjoyed the experience. There was a slight pause in the frequency of our visits to do work obligations and we visited it this morning for breakfast. The food was no where near what we remembered and the service was “ok”. What got me was the mandatory 20% tip added to the bill for groups of 1 person. Even worse was the statement at the bottom of the check..”Brass Tack” tipping. A blurb designed to make you feel guilty if you do not tip more than what they already charged you. They say it’s about a living wage for their employees. That is the hotels responsibility not the patrons. For gods sake the food prices are certainly high enough to support that. The hotel just doesn’t want to pay their employees what they are worth and try to get the guests to..I would always tip more than 20% for great service, but not after the extortion the owners put on the bill, and without your knowledge. What a scam. Owners, do the right thing and pay your employees a living wage, hire great employees who provide great service and the guest have the option to show their appreciation. Wont be back till this is fixed."
