"Celebrated my husband’s birthday here. It is a restaurant we enjoy going to for special occasions. As always we received a lovely welcome. The food and wine were good the seafood towers for starters and halibut main course were delicious. We love the atmosphere...of this small cosy restaurant and are made to feel special by Gill and Martin, the owners."

"I have often passed through the lion inn in Blakey refrigerator and often asked me, even during spells of weather, why so many vehicles were parked outside. now, my questions were answered when I paid a visit on the 28th March during a mild snow flow. when entering into the lion inn it felt like a cozy oasis of rest. Many of the customers obviously had stabbed the mooren and were eaten in meal times that, as I passed, looked very appetizing. the type that served behind the bar, drew a prise beer to perfection. I ordered mint, dumplings, chips and veg, an ideal choice on a cool afternoon. enough to say when carlsberg fried chips made, I doubt that they are served as well as the chips here. probably the best chips I've tried. Oh yes, the mint and dumplings were also pretty good. will I have paid for a return? be sure I will."

"Very welcoming cafe with a friendly and relaxing vibe. We ordered the vegan cheeseburger and hotdog and a vegan cheese, parsley and sundried tomato sandwich for our young son. The cheese burger and hotdog tasted great and both had good texture and were well seasoned. The sandwich was good too and the cheese used was really nice. We also ordered a takeaway americano and a delicious slice of biscoff cake and two refreshing juices that were acerola and orange and pineapple and mint. Muito obrigado!"

"Visited here on a Monday night, everywhere else close by was closed. Arrived at 8.02pm. Asked if there was food available was told ‘Sorry but it’s too late, we stop food at 8.0. The Chef overheard our disappointment said that he’d stay on do us something. We were grateful so I went for something simple ‘Bangers Mash’ He said, ‘I’ll do u better than that. Steak Ale pie is good’ So I did do. My wife fancied Whitebait with a few chips. Meals came, Pie was lovely, loads of meat with a great Puff Pastry top. The Whitebait came with chips, but he’d done a cracking side salad to go with it. Bar staff were very welcoming too, great Pino Ale. Can’t fault it. Thanks a lot."
