My husband and I were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. We had seen The Mountain House on Check, Please on PBS and were intrigued by the location and view of the redwoods. It was a long drive from San Jose, but well worth it. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. We were seated in the back room with full views of the redwoods. The restaurant is in a very nice setting. The staff is nice and friendly. One might say it's a little quirky, but it's definitely welcoming. Unfortunately, the quality of the the food was not to the level expected. We had to send back one dish because the main ingredient was cold. Another dish was barely edible.
