We have had a great time in this restaurant, the flavors are top, very well cooked, good atmosphere, short it is a star. I put only 3 stars because there is still a disappointment, we were still hungry when we left the restaurant and we are not fat eaters either, so for the price paid, I find that limit. Too bad. We had a fantastic meal here yesterday. The food was delicious, much bold interesting taste, but still light. Great variation of flavors, ingredients and techniques. Matching wine was also fantastic, many interesting wines. Thank you.
We really enjoyed the cuisine of the chef full of creativity that has the sense of the small details that make all the difference. It's art in the plate. These dishes are refined with subtle tastes with a mix of well-performed cultures. A large open kitchen where the brigade can be observed in action. The staff is professional and friendly. This gastronomic restaurant in Rennes is safe. Not to miss.
Five stars for a five star restaurant! It was a first experience for us, facing the furnaces, with these small portions full of flavors that we see being prepared, assembled... The team is attentive, welcoming! (Bémol on the first dessert that was very high! However, knowing that the chill is wrong, for another dish, the team had been careful to put only a small amount and that's great!
What an incredible experience IMA is. I was able to sit at the bar and enjoyed dinner service while seeing the plating happening right in front of me. The chef spoke English well so I was able to ask questions and was treated with the utmost respect. The food was some of the best I have ever had in France. Astonishing attention to detail, original and creative flavors, and plates prettier than a polished pearl made this dinner unforgettable. Authentic Japanese flavors intertwined with the flavors of Brittany were very fun to experience. Not to mention, the service was near-impeccable. As a bleached-hair 20-year-old dude who spoke little French and ate by himself, my time in France was met with many weird looks and unfriendly experiences; however, the staff at IMA were friendly for every moment I was there. The sommelier was happy to teach me about wine and how it worked with the dishes. The waitresses were so attentive when it came to refilling water, taking finished plates, or sensing that I had a question to ask. They even taught me some French! All the staff would let me pass when walking through the restaurant, which made me feel like royalty and was incredible consistency across the board. The reviews can only explain so much about what you will experience here. If you are in Rennes and have the time and money, make sure you go here.
