"We stopped here on the way up the A1, it being only a few minutes' drive away. There is some free parking outside but also some more free parking in Tuxford Working Men’s club, just around the corner. The cafe adjoins a sandwich and cake shop and the ladies running both were very friendly and helpful. Great coffee and a lovely full English Breakfast were quickly served up. Eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, black pudding, tinned tomatoes (which I prefer), hash browns and a stack of delicious toast. The icing on the cake was a real fire. It was exactly what we had been hoping for. We had the large breafast and several drink refills. With all this, it was about £15 each,and worth it. We may very well stop in on our return trip!"

"Really good food. the sunday roast was fantastic. big yorkshire pudding, extra gravure and meat was very delicate. fish and chips were also great. the fish was perfectly not cooked dry or greasy! the staff was also polite."

"We booked the Relax and Rejuvenate package, which included a whole day’s use of the spa, 2 treatments, lunch in the spa dining area, dinner in the hotel restaurant, overnight stay, breakfast, use of the gym and a late checkout (midday). The spa is probably the best one we’ve been to: very relaxing environment and the staff were very helpful, and the massage was really good. Lunch was very slick. One of us had a starter and main, the other had a main and dessert; we were booked in for 2pm and were seated bang on time, and we were finished within 45 minutes allowing us to get back and maximise our time in the spa. The food was very good, well presented and hot. After finishing in the spa we checked into the hotel, hit the gym then showered and got down to the bar for pre-dinner drinks. Dinner was extremely good although having three waiting staff, each trying to take parts of our order, led to confusion (e.g. asked for a glass of red wine and was brought a bottle of white). After a sound night’s sleep in a decent (standard) room, we had a very nice breakfast; there was a good selection of cold choices and the Eggs Benedict and Full English were well cooked (nice runny eggs). Overall, a great Relaxing and Rejuvenating experience and we are already planning our next visit."

"After we left another local pub because they could not serve us for an hour or more, we even took a chance here that it heaving. (teatime) here before and again was tasty x we both had the small fish and chips small!? still the most beautiful fish and chips you had and always made to feel welcome. fast, to become my fave place."
