"We came here to have a quick lunch after visiting the Cantina [hidden link] . It consisted of entrée beef with sauce and oil with truffles , a first course maltagliati with olives, tomatoes and mushrooms and a dessert peanuts semifreddo with sea salt . Everything was perfectly cooked and well served. We had Connubio del Castello for the meal and Se Bo Be Bi with the dessert: very good indeed. I recommend this place, but I recommend even more to book a visit to their cantina. Moreover, you will be able to enjoy a beautiful panorama. The restaurant is very close to Rieti."

"We were interested to try this Slow Food Osteria because of its dedication to serving only the very best, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. We were totally blown away by the 15 Euro pranzo della settimana lunch special which included primo, secondo, contorno, water and a glass of wine! The meat stuffed tortelloni in butter and sage sauce were so good we didn’t want our first course to end—now I get why they call it a Slow Food Osteria! For second we shared an order of chicken stewed in red bell peppers and a veal cutlet in a savoury chestnut sauce and for a side we both had the cicoria. The veal with chestnut sauce was very good but the bright flavours of the chicken and red bell peppers were truly amazing. Cicoria ripassata is a standard side dish served almost everywhere and we love it but even this humble dish somehow sang. We finished our excellent lunch with espressi and I opted to try their tiramisu, also excellent. At the end of the meal our lovely waiter Sebastiano offered us a taste of a Genziana they sold. Genziana is a digestivo liqueur made from the roots of the wild mountain gentian plant. It has a bitter flavour and it has taken me some years to acquire a taste for it but now I love it. The Genziana was so good I had to buy a bottle. One of the neat things about this restaurant is that they have a store where you can buy all sorts of locally sourced products: wines, liqueurs, lentils, pastas, etc. I highly recommend a visit to Le Tre Porte."
