I had a lot of laughs here because, during lunch, there was a trio of local people commenting about food in such a way that it really seemed they were trying to convince me ordering the most expensive dishes. It really seemed like they were on the restaurant payroll but we had a lot of laughs. The food was good, if a bit expensive. Peposo, for 18€, was just a few pieces of good meat. The salmon was abundant but maybe... View all feedback.
What GianlucaMarcellino doesn't like about Da Cipolla:
We had a pre-dinner drink in the square near a small, relaxing, dripping fountain. Well served with some pleasant olives and peanuts thrown in, as reasonable at this time if day, and reasonably priced. Cooking is reported good, with some special dishes, typical of this particular town. As many as four betting machines fill the anteroom, though, with one or two obviously enthralled customers. That's a significant draw... View all feedback.
We chose this restaurant for dinner. Small nice restaurant with the view on the church. We took bruschetta it was normal, fritomisto was good, and vongole pasta was delicious. But the dessert disappointed us, the chocolate fondant was cold inside and not soft. The total check was 70€. For this place, we think the check is a bit high.
Excellent food, dedicated staff, absolutely adored the gnocchi with crab and strozzapreti with frutti di mare our waitress was lovely and recommended many wineries to visit on the island I’m recommended !
First we want just to take a short coffee break in bad weather but our stomach alarmed when we start to read the menu. Local dishes, freshly made, not very complicated but never the less special and delicious. So we decided to take two second plates for a small lunch. It must be that Italians can't do the pasta wrong but spaghetti al ragu was great. Of course with parmigiano beside. Other second plate was strozzapreti ai frutti di mare. Special small pasta sticks with fresh vongola or clam molluscs and Mediterranean mussels in probably white wine sauce with parsley. For us dishes was big enough to be as main dishes so just a good esspreso and catalana cake after that was more than enough. It was a little bit wrong to have a local Elba beer with such dishes. It is quite expensive all over the island but worth trying it. Stuff was very kind. It very nice to get the smile before you order and after you finish your meal. And very important for us: Dogs are allowed to come with you.
We stopped for a drink and stayed for lunch.. seafood pasta and wild boar pasta.. both were well prepared and served with a smile. Great stop, easy parking and an interesting town.
Very nice restaurant on the main square. attentive and professional staff. excellent strozzapreti to the seafood. discuss the pizza. well
