Just like I remember it as a kid. Good sandwiches, decent clam chowder, and they still have the New York Seltzers. No wait on a Saturday after a Mt. Rubidoux run. Eating out is pricey just about anywhere now, so it's a very rare treat. But hopefully enough business comes in to keep our local spots going. View all feedback.
What Mike Goodwin doesn't like about Butch's Grinders:
I ordered one 12 inch cold sub and it took them 17 minutes to make it and there was only one order in front of us. They even has at least 3 employees working at the time. Also, there was not enough inside the sandwich compared to how thick the bread is, especially for how expensive they are. View all feedback.
Awesome place. Awesome sandwiches. Perfect post hike meal! Don't forget to pick up a shirt too! Turkey or egg salad on squaw is very delicious. ??
I'm disappointed to report that my recent visit to Butch's Grinders was less than satisfactory. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were not prepared correctly. When I called to resolve the issue, especially since we were moving out of state, I encountered a lot of back-and-forth communication. It seems that customer service is not a priority there.
I often get a turkey sandwich on squaw bread. The bread is fresh and delicious and they give you a generous amount of turkey. I’ve had the potatoe salad too, yummy.The wait can sometimes be a while but it’s worth it. The inside is small but seats are often available e since people seem to take tbeir orders to go.
They do not let you order a whole/large sandwich and make it a combo. You have to order half a sandwich to be eligible to purchase a combo (chips and drinks) according to the cashier. What kind of business does this? Who eats a sandwich without chips and a drink? Who intentionally avoids making more money? P.S. we 've been coming here for over 20 years and have only experienced this with newer staff members. The older lady will do it, but not the younger staff members. What gives? We have always ordered a whole sandwich and bought chips and drinks on the side. Management needs to get on top of this otherwise you 'll start losing your regular and loyal customers.
Fresh ingredients and consistency must be the magic that makes these sandwiches taste so amazing!!! Love the book vibe they have going on and the lady up front Ms.Josette is hella sweet and always has a great attitude! Thanks Butchs the wait is definitely worth it!!
