"Due to its high rating for this area, we decided to treat ourselves on our last night. Is located in a very small village, is strongly advised to reserve, especially the terrace tables (with beautiful landscape of the hills, nice to dinner during sunset , small restaurant with around 15 tables (it was fully booked when we went there . Cutely decorated with simple items like candles, old irons and brooms; toilet room was too perfumed and a basket complete of perfumes, perfumed powders, hand creams, disinfectant etc. was available for guests… nice touch, it was quite a long time that I don’t visit a toilet room with toiletries for free use for the public… That night, we chose tortellini with burrata (type of “buttered” cheese , spinach and pistachio (too much the taste of nutmeg! ; papardelles with cinta senese (local pig sauce; braised piglet with Scansano wine; fried dried cod; lemon mousse with sweetened fruit, yogurt mousse with chopped nuts… fixed price for a starter, main, dessert and drinks, no written menu, orally announced by who welcomes… Interesting, tasty and beautifully presented dishes. We were received by (presumably manager and she said that they propose traditional dishes with variations; no popular antipasti like sliced dried meats are served and snacks will not be offered as they are time wasting, we agreed BUT when you see that is offered to other tables with the exception of yours including those who arrived later, is not nice seeing that… we didn’t ask for it (because we don’t like to seem “begging” but after the pasta dishes, the courtesy snack arrived with many apologies from the waitress (switched as the “owner” went to receive other guests … after finishing the snack (which was appetizing the waitress kept apologizing the gap… Apart of this episode (intentional or not or just forgetful! , this is a nice eatery, hidden, away the crowds, with quite good (sometimes a bit less! food with experimental addings."

"This restaurant was booked immediately when we knew were going to Tuscany as it has an excellent reputation in our circle of friends. Short story Il Silene did not disappoint ! No review would do this restaurant justice. The service, food and suggested wines were excellent. It was also very nice to have a tour of the garden and have our aperitif along the herbs. Lunch itself was served inside the beautifully decorated restaurant, where we were welcomed by Roberto very charming man who really took the time to tell us about his filosophy and his cooking. The food itself was ... well undescribably good. Please refer to the many much more eloqueny foodies who went here before me for a better description : Obviously the Michelin star is well deserved. I loved every bite and will return hopefully for the full diner experience!"

"We went here for Valentine's night dinner, for what better place to celebrate Valentine than San Valentino. The experience was wonderful. This is a thoroughly cozy setting, only a few tables and a warm welcoming fire burning in the fire place. The service was gracious and the meal delicious. The set Valentine's menu included a large plate full of wonderful appetisers, the bread with organic pumpkin spread and the cheeses with their own organic jams were our favorites. This was followed by two pasta dishes (thankfully not too large the first was a traditional cheese and black pepper pasta that was served in a small dish made out of parmesan cheese. After this, an onion and artichoke pasta and as the main course very tender pork, a small potatoe muffin which was delicious and an incredible white creamy sauce which we both agreed was the best of its kind we had ever tasted. Dessert was chocolate cake which was nearly too rich. All in all a lovely evening and incredible value as the price for two was 50 euro."
