What User doesn't like about Velvet Belly:
We decided to try this place and I ordered the special (red snapper) and when it came out it was only a piece of fish on a plate. I have no qualms about spending money on a good meal but for a $40 meal it should have had some rice or vegetables on the side or something. Food sucks! Left here hungry as I came. Wonderful service but the food is terrible and trying too hard. Serving is so small for price such a rip off!

"The dining area was small. They can serve 16 people so reservations are essentially mandatory. Street parking is required but we didn't have any issues finding a spot.I found the service here to be first rate. They were friendly and efficient. They brought out new plates between courses. My party chose the chef's tasting at a very reasonable 65 dollars per person. The chef came out to personally present each dish and explain some of his techniques and ingredients. This was a very nice touch."
