We had a great experience at this restaurant with delicious food. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The local beer on tap was a pleasant surprise, similar to Blue Moon but thicker and more robust. I quickly finished my glass and wanted another, but I had to drive. The food was good overall, although my wife noted that the vegetables in her pasta were frozen, not fresh. The pasta and chicken were still tasty. M... View all feedback.

In an almost empty restaurant with the few tables of elderly people. There were 4 of us, but my partner and I came early to get an appetizer while we waited because we were hungry, we were told that it was social policy not to sit until our full party came, which is understandable, in a really busy restaurant. My partner and I have both years of experience in the food industry, but the fact that they don't even let u... View all feedback.
Ordered take out tonight. The gentleman who took my order was so kind and patient with my questions. The young lady at the counter was friendly and chipper. The food was fresh and steaming when we got it. We got the lobster roll and lobster pie. Phenomenal. Get your stomachs ready because with sides, it’s a lot of food. We highly recommend!
Nicely located near downtown Rochester, Windjammers is easily accessible and has plenty of parking. The wait staff is professional, friendly, attentive, and always made sure our glasses were full. The food was excellent. From seafood, to steak, to italian, everything was prepared well and tasted wonderful. The clam chowder was excellent. The seafood stuffing was also delicious. Always glad to visit, definitely plan to return in the future!
Great lunch. Baked haddock w/Ritz cracker topping, with baked potato and slaw and dessert and soft drink for $13. The secret... The last page of the menu, the senior specials. There is no minimum age limit on the senior menu. I'm 61 and have now experienced my second old man's discount.
I went here for two lunches while I was on vacation in mid-May, 2022, and the food is excellent ! It becomes crowded with locals every day at lunchtime, so get there early or expect a wait. During those two visits, I had the fried lobster tails, the fried whole belly clams, and the broiled scallops. All were delicious, but I recommend the broiled scallops. The mashed red potatoes and the coleslaw were also very good. They have a senior menu as well, but I was hungry. As part of my vacation, I drove the southern Maine coast, eating at top restaurants along the way. Windjammers was my favorite restaurant of the entire trip. I only wish that I didn't live 2100 miles away or I would eat here at least three days at week !
Great service and great food! Unfortunately a bit of a wait when we showed up as they were very busy. To be expected on a Friday though. Wish there was a call ahead seating list or some way of reserving spot in line online as waiting around outside wasn’t the best.
