"I booked a table for my wife and myself as a surprise for her on Valentines Day. I chose Lavoro as we had been there previously and enjoyed wonderful food with exceptional service each time. We arrived early and were eventually shown to a table, that had no cutlery, no menus, and was dirty from the previous diners. It was a busy night so we waited for someone to attend to the table and perhaps take a drinks order. After 20 minutes we hadn’t had anyone come back to our table. Meanwhile other people were being seated at nearby tables and being served immediately. I got the attention of a passing waitress and asked for menus and some water. She returned with 2 menus and said she would be back with some water. She didn’t come back. Other couples continued to be served after arriving well after us. I checked with my wife to see if I was invisible or something. At 35 minutes I left the table and located the person that appeared to be the maître d and asked politely if we could get some service and order a bottle of wine. He confirmed our table number and said he would get someone to us straight away. After 50 minutes without any service, barely even any acknowledgment, not even water, we left. I was very disappointed as I had planned the evening to be a special ocassion. At this stage it was nearly 8pm on Valentines Day. The chances of finding another restaurant was practically nil. I don’t know what has changed at Lavoro but they need to get back to what they used to do. They absolutely ruined our evening. We won’t be back, and wouldn’t recommend anyone planning a special occasion to risk having it at Lavoro under the current management."

"Delish! Have come here a few times for ice cream and never disappointed! $5.50 for a generous scoop of ice cream and their coffee passed the Mocha test. For a change today I had their mushroom and spinach crepes. Two servings, very nice and generous amount of mushrooms. Only thing was they did not have cheese in them but I still really enjoyed them without it. Will be back!"

"Went there recently after watching a movie. The staff member at the counter told us we could order food before the kitchen closed (3 minutes later). We ordered and sat down with a drink waiting for our food. 10 minutes later another staff member came and told us that the chef was packing up and wasn't going to cook our food. We were offered a free round of drinks but we were there for a meal, not just drinks. Pretty poor form for the chef not to fill an order that was taken on time. We went elsewhere and found another place that could serve us a good meal. Meal type: Dinner Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3"
