"One of my favorite light-lunchboxes in dc. they have in the ground themselves rice, nudel and or salat bowl with a southeast Asian flair. A.k.a dressings are more fish sauce and acid-based, which is delicious and refreshing, but still tasteful. when I first visited, I think it was one of the owners who worked the front so that there was a little more love in the salat than my new visit, but the employee helped me this time was still very friendly. the chicken salad is always a winner and they can choose how sharp they want it. they also have a series of vegan dressings and various protein options or even a kicherbsen curry when they look different. the star of my visit was this time the buttersemolina cake. this cache was so soft and creamy with a warm fat syrup, and the nuts and light texture of the smolina really works in this cake. an extremely decadent way to finish and otherwise light meal"

"Lovely dinner. May be the best French Onion soup that I have eating. The baked oyster were also very nice, as were our entrees of duck and venison. My husband was very happy with this apple tart dessert. My only criticism was that my Grand Marnier soufflé was lacking in flavor with just a strong “egg” taste. We will return, but next time I will try the chocolate or raspberry soufflé."

"I love food at Beau Thai. The Larb Gai is excellent. My only complaint is that apart from the noodle dishes, the portions are surprisingly small at prices that are higher than other places charge for full sized items. Be warned."

"Got poke with a friend, and the service was fantastic, the food was so fresh and tasty (they even sliced the fish freshly in front of us! , and the price is excellent! I think definitely a great spot, with great portions! Highly recommend it!"

"A fantastic experience was had by all. We decided to celebrate a friendâs birthday for dinner. It was wonderful. We enjoyed every single moment of it. The food was excellent. The Prosecco spritzer was not a favorite but the Old fashioned was wonderful as were the other cocktails enjoyed by the group. The butternut squash soup was the best we have ever had. The mussels came out cold but everything else was flawless and flavorful. The icing on the cake though was THE SERVICE!!!!!!! My goodness, it doesnât get any better than this. Attentive, kind, and thoughtful! We would recommend this and have to all we know!!!! Well done Peacock! I regularly dine there and now my friends understand why!"

"My wife and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. We dined at 1789 to celebrate our union several times over the years. Our experience on Jan 14 2023 was excellent. Our server, Shantey, exhibited a superb understanding about each entree and made our dinner particularly memorable. She also explained how each item was prepared in a way that was easy to understand I highly encourage feasting at 1789."
