"I understand that if you're not from here you stick out and don't fit in. I understand that its winter and who wants to come to northern ME in January. What I don't understand is how when we walked into this place, having been highly recommended by others, no one said one word to us. We didn't know if we had to seat ourselves or not. There were several people there with what looked like staff t shirts on...all of them looked at us as we awkwardly pulled out 2 chairs and sat down at one of the all empty tables. We sat for close to 10 min. Nobody ever said 1 word. So, dreading the repeat awkwardness, we stood up and walked out. Again...nobody said anything. We wanted to visit Maine in the winter because we both love cold weather and don't get much of it in NC. Its understood that these are tiny towns with mostly local folks. It just would have been nice for someone to speak to us. Maybe even smile at us. All we wanted was something for dinner."
