"This review actually saddens me to write.. I really love the delicious food that we receive any time we purchase from a pocket full of spice however, tonight as I was enjoying my curry, I felt something hard and sharp in my mouth. I pulled the item out and it was a plastic zip tie. I was shocked. Luckily, it had been dished into my bowl, and not my toddlers.. it could have been an absolute disaster. I called the restaurant and explained what had happened. They offered to replace my meal (kind of them, and the least I would have expected, however no refund offered) and were very apologetic. I feel compelled to write this review as a warning to others, as I’m not sure how a plastic zip tie ended up inside a curry pot!"

"We came here for the evening. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful thanks to Maddie and Ben). The food was usually just okay, sad. The warm olives were hardly lukewarm and the accompanying Lavosh was not completely boiled should be crisp. The cauliflower steak bowl $35) was basically a raw part of cauliflower with sung edges, plus accompaniments. This was sent back and replaced by the falafel salad, which was especially beautiful, but left off from the chewing rocket stems like food straw, why leave the in... not good). We were happy enough to eat on the balcony and really enjoyed the view that it paid to book and request outside seating). We would look at coming back, but maybe they have a few different vegan menu options."

"Our third dining experience at Thai Orchid was just as wonderful as the previous ones. The staff have a way of making their guests really feel at home. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet has a nice buzz, which can work for romantic couples just as easily as groups of friends and family gatherings. Nothing is too much trouble and despite the fact the meals here are very tasty, the serves are quite generous and the quality/freshness of the ingredients are world standard, I find the prices are most reasonable. I will definitely be back next time I visit Christchurch."

"This is a very busy place and the tables are a little too close together for my comfort but the food was lovely. I loved the fresh spring rolls, probably the best I have ever had and I think this is a great place for vegetarians and vegans because there's so many options that it's kinda overwhelming but in a good way!"

"Have been here many times as have many of my friends helping a local business to survive BUT now it seems they will not trade with UN-vaccinated even though as a Takeaway its not mandated. If they bother doing research from Govts own web sites and controlled media they will see that the vaccinated are able to catch and pass on virus but worse of all Unknowingly !!! At least the UN-vaccinated will know they possibly have an issue and isolate. The first case of the latest virus is an example fully vaccinated from Germany tested before the started trip, then tested in Dubai, then tested in Auckland and got to Christchurch to be found to have virus. That same person could walk up to get a coffee with all the paperwork this place wont's and give their clients the latest virus!!!! Wake up think about it, NO MORE BUSINESS FROM us!"
