What Minghina Minghina doesn't like about Da Bucatino:
I ate for lunch yesterday with a group of friends and after the truly excellent first courses we ordered Roman-style artichokes which however were sold out. However, the grilled artichokes were there. Unfortunately they took some artichokes in oil and put them in the pan, resulting in something that was completely burnt and decidedly unpleasant to the palate. We stopped by on a Sunday evening, right around 7:00, without reservations. The server was very kind and got us in just before the dinner rush. By the time we left it was absolutely packed. In hindsight, we should have made a reservation. This is clearly a neighborhood favorite. The food was excellent. We tried the cacio e pepe, carbonara, rabbit, oxtails, and puntarelle. And a bottle of wine. Everything was excellent and the service was great! We are tourists, but felt just as welcome as the locals and had a very nice experience. Our server was a kind man with a good sense of humor we had fun joking around with him. The prices are very fair and portions large. Ignore the bad reviews posted about this place and give it a try. Make a reservation, be respectful, and keep an open mind. You will not be disappointed!
