Augustine the pergola presents itself as a restaurant anchored to the Roman tradition, simple, family management, very kind staff. the hotel recomended la pergola as a good local restaurant. unfortunately it was not a nice experience. the waiter was unfriendly and uninterested. we were only allowed to take the house wine (which was terrible), although there were several possibilities. not for us. it is a big restaurant, but we think especially for the locals. even though our neighbour had a nice soup, we could order it only after long discussion...
