Trattoria Del Pollarolo - Roma

Beautiful location, excellent value, excellent food, good service. Washrooms as always in Rome are not up to Canadian standards but this one was ok.

On arrival, waiter grumpily suggested we should sit inside as it was so hot. We wanted to sit outside (it was shaded), so he grudgingly sat us outside. In Italian he then said “well, you can’t change your mind if it gets too hot”, but we understood. Food was poor and cold. Restaurant very quiet for lunchtime so four waiters took to cleaning the outside area with a hose around us, constantly splashing us. One toilet for the whole place stank and dirty mop against the wall right by the basin. Yuck. Sad to read reviews of the former glories of this place. Really disappointed.

Recommended!!! Great service and food. We ate a late dinner here and the staff was outstanding, the red house wine and pastas were delicious! The air conditioner was a great relief for the heat in the city at this time of year. We will come back on our next trip to Rome.

Typical family trattoria sold out in 2019 new owners kept the same menu but it seems they did not keep the same chef.

Food was OK but the price charged were different than the menu stated and they gave us tapwater in a filthy bottle and tried to charge us three euro for the privilege. Didn’t touch the water and had to point out to staff and then there was a big discussion about it, but I refused to pay for what I consider to be toilet water Not happy at all and I took a picture of said bottle so there can be no denial
