What Aline C likes about Il Pettirosso:
The food is excellent. We had delicious starters to share (antipasti mozzarella di buffalo and prosciuto/fromagio) with bread. We tried pizza and pasta and everything dish was really tasty. The restaurant is calm, perfect for a peaceful diner. View all feedback.

What David R doesn't like about Il Pettirosso:
Restaurant is very far out of town. The outdoor dining area is very large and seems to attract neighborhood locals. Food was decent, fairly plentiful. The waiter, an older gentleman, was not friendly at all. We were clearly tourists and made an effort to speak Italian but he was not helpful. We barely had time to look at the menu when he kept coming to the table to ask if we were ready. Felt rushed even though he was... View all feedback.

"The first thing that comes to mind thinking about this wonderful wedding favor in the heart of roma is elegance. elegance and sophistication are the guiding thread of this beautiful experience that you breathe just through the entrance to the choice of wooden furnishings, in copper details, in the professionalism of the staff, in the refinement of raw materials and in the creativity of a visionary chef and all his fantastic staff. we opted for interlude, a 4-course course available only at lunch that I find very interesting because it allows to try a high-level restaurant at an affordable price (85 euros) especially for the prices of the capital. the thing I really liked is that there are no seasonal fixed menus, but everything varies depending on the availability of raw materials and the imagination of the chef. This means that today's menu will never be the same as tomorrow, and it is something almost no restaurant does. Thus the path dedicated to us was entirely surprising and touched the influences that characterized the cuisine of the chef: east, Italy, France. all perfectly balanced, gorgeous, elegant, wise and never pretentious. in the order we ate: a dumpling reminiscent of the real gnomes of the Chinese tradition, but leaving a unique explosion of goto, never explored; a ditch of indivia and avocado with two emulsions to represent yin and yang (white with gin, the second done with the smoke of the indivia,) a very special goto but the only dish that did not excite me asks to follow the cacio and pepper. I would suggest that the knife is returned to the waiter and bringing a ham in return, which would be enough to cut the meat. To conclude also the dessert was incredible, and this rarely happened to me in restaurants of this caliber. in this case the pastry keeps high the taste carousel. for the final we were offered of the small pastry also this very pleasant and very appreciated. We got up in a satisfactory way and waited. I didn't give two stars for two reasons: the first is that I found a little excessive the average prices of the wine card (from 70 euros) and in general embroidery on drinks (water to 7 euros); the second is that I would have liked the welcome aperitif that is usually offered in this type of restaurant. probably is not included in the dining room menu as it is considered a business lunch; However I think it might be a good idea to include those fingerfoods welcome in the intermezzo menu; they do not steal more than 10 minutes to the commensali but surely do so much pleasure to the customer, making it well prepared for the experience and often tell the soul of the place in small curious moments of pleasure. for the same reason we enjoyed the welcome of pomegranate and pink, sweet and small pastry, both delicious and offered by the kitchen. recommended! I will definitely return to try a larger menu because it really deserves so much for the kindness and friendliness of all the staff and for the surprise you taste at every goto. soon"
