charming family-run restaurant. Mom's cook. papa is the front man at 80; completely charming. his name, he says, is romeo,) and sohn francesco is a knowledgeable sommelier and a very sweet and interesting “character”. eating and the atmosphere of a 2000-year old building still in use was perfect. a wonderful last night in rom. very recommended. I had expected this to be a local restaurant with its kitchen based on slowly cooked local ingredients, so my disappointment was to admire the fact that there was a total tourist operation caught with groups thru to admire their basement. We both had what we thought would be an excellent slow meal, but my flesh whispered and my men Turkey was very dry. The night we were there, they fled the pork, for which they were known. Wouldn't return.
Amazing eating and great value for this standard of cooking

The ambience was not great and the food was pretty bad. We asked for the check and they wouldn't give it to us. The vegetable cheese dish ordered and it was very bad. It was all Americans and it felt like they were billing tourist prices, but bad value.
Bad ambiente, too bright lighting. very low service, small portions. too high expectations for food quality with deceptive results.
