"Really disappointed. Small menu. Table next to me got the wrong meal. Our table he gave us the same wrong meal. Brisket was 70 percent fat. Not edible. Very disappointed. "We were in the Spikehorn a few times and were not disappointed yet. Located on the north side of the Houghton Lake, you could almost say that it is fucked away, but as it is located on the main loop of the northern bank, it is quite in sight. A beautiful, modern interior, it still has a very rustic, northern Michigan Lake look, complete with pine trim, although in a tasteful way. It is a good place for Date Night and they even often have live music. The service in the Spikehorn was consistently contemporary and we never had to wait for food or drink, although we were not there when it was whipped, so you don't know how to deal with high volume. The menu has a nice variety and I was pleased to find a pretty dang good burrito. Nice. Not only the standard bar tariff. And of course, it would not be fair not to mention the full bar, with a rather decent selection of beer on tap. I had a delicious dark beer that made Burrito very complicated. No rating would be without a trip to the head, the latrine, the latty box, water closure, indoor outhouse, whatever. The bathroom. It's nice to say that the Spikehorn is going through the test. There is enough space for more than one person, it is clean, well illuminated and fully functional. Sounds small, but it's amazing how many places it doesn't get right. (I can only speak for the men's room. I'm pretty sure it's almost never a good idea to check the women's restroom just for a review. After another satisfying meal, with a beer or maybe two, our bill came upon request and we checked in a short order. Once again we were not disappointed at Spikehorn. I'm pretty sure you won't be, even though this is in no way a legally binding promise."

"Cute little diner, staff is very sweet and welcoming. Had the grilled chicken club and devoured it. It was grilled perfect, and the bread was nice and fresh. It wasn’t too greasy like most diners. Expect regular diner fare, done very well!"

"Great gluten free pizza! UPDATE: Latest visit took well over an hour... Empty glasses, very slow and wasn't busy. $13 antipasto salad was very small. $3.00 sodas with NO REFILLS? 6 people and bill was over $100! Still tasty though."

"Decided to stop here on the way back to the flatlands. While not a beer guy the pizzas were worth the stop. They have many unique choices for pies and paninis. We chose the blue collar and the dill chicken . Both were different, but delicious. Eventhough my SO chose the dill chicken I thought that was the better one, not taking anything away from the blue collar. Settingand atmosphere was good, service was friendly and prompt . No complaints."
