What Giovanna Huels doesn't like about Di Pillas Italian:
Service is great, but food is regular. Maybe if it was Chepaer, the food taste will be understandable. Don't get me wrong, it's not expensive. It is only that prices are just a little expensive for the ambience and food quality. The place is old and muffy, but it adds character to the restaurant. It can use some update overall. If you desire comfort Italian food, this can be the service you go wild here for. View all feedback.
Pretty solid around Italian food. They only now make the execution and seemed somewhat overwhelmed, but still polite and helpful. The tomatoes basil sauce is really basil-heavy, so if you are in that then great! The Cesar is delicious, the Carbonara is quite bland, the sides of the bread are AMAZING like really delicious pizza crust. Fried calamari is delish and the roasted mozzarella is delicious, but a little tomato sour
The meal was served hot and tasty with lots of vegetables and Angel Hair Pasta. The bread was fresh and sprinkled with herbs. The best Italian food I've had for a long time. Because of Covid we were not able to dinate, I will definitely be back!
Had a big paprika, sausage and garlic pizza. The bread here is some of the best. Great food, our server was enthusiastic and excellent.
In previous trips we sat outside and were amazing for the summer time. This autumn trip was indoors and better. It was closer, quieter and a better lunch. Santos (Chief from Spain) creates magic with great dishes. The outstanding winners were the truffle Carpaccio and the pappardelle with wild boar. The wine list is amazing.
Food is excellent hands down the best all around Italian restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley and has been for decades, and one of the top in the greater Los Angeles area. They are now doing both pickup and sit down dining again, having been only pick up for a long time. There has not been a quality drop the entirety of covid so the food is still fantastic. It is still my go to Italian restaurant. The bread and soup are amazing, they have incredible house made pastas and some of the best old school pizza in the area too.
