We came here based on previous reviews (particularly the ones that mentioned that this place was freedom loving). Loved seeing the faces of the waitstaff and patrons! Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We brought our kids and had a great time. View all feedback.

we have the black bohnenburger and the vegan nachos with impossible crumbs. some of the orders were wrong and they forgot our drinks. eating was ok, but literally nobody wore masks there or in the kitchen. antimask and antivax signs their windows. bummer, their menu had a lot of vegan options for a remote city. The food is good. Servers are so attentive, helpful and pleasant. Could use some Entree on the menu. But otherwise a solid choice.
They have a separate veg/vegan menu with several decent vegan junk food options (i.e., burgers, nachos, grilled cheese, etc. . Nothing on the healthier side, but it is bar food, so I guess that's understandable. Vegan cheese costs extra but is available. The food was good. The service was not very good, and I got a bit of a MAGA vibe from the place. This is the oldest bar in Washington and has a cool running water spittoon along the bar, so it's worth a visit just for the experience. For sober folks, they have several N/A beers, including Athletic Brewing Company, which is vegan and the best in the market, in my opinion. Updated from previous review on 2023-02-12
