My wife and I were on a Sunday drive and this place jumped out at us as we got hungry. The food was worth the wait. Be patient as they are short staffed. OMG!!!! When you are eating you don't even feel like you are in a restaurant. It does taste like you are home. Can't wait to go back again and just try the desert. They had a guy playing music and singing in the corner of an already tiny space, was too loud, couldn't have a conversation. Server was rude... food was low quality. I did enjoy my side salad. Though I felt like it was a bother to ask for salad instead of French fries.Dietary restrictions: If you ask for healthy choices...you are made to feel like it is a bother. read more.

"Delicious strawberries and produce, excellent preserves and other goods, absolutely exceptional strawberry shortcake and other freshly made foods! We stopped getting the strawberry shortcake from the strawberry festival or anywhere else for that matter because this is the best one. The Cuban sandwiches and other strawberry desserts are fantastic as well; we usually have to get at least one of each dessert whenever we go here. The staff is absolutely delightful and efficient. This place is well worth the inevitable line to get to the service counter."

"Doc Fords never misses! There isn't a bad dish on the menu. My particular fav is the Yucatán peel and eat shrimp. The sauce has a bite to it and you dip your fresh bread in it for a double treat with shrimp and bread. Delicious! Everyone I have dined with have said their meal was fantastic- no matter what they have ordered! We always eat outdoors and the bay setting, palm trees and breeze just make the experience even better! If that wasn't enough, later in the day (maybe around 6pm ish, but better to check. I could be wrong about the time) they have live music outside in the sand to provide entertainment. You won't be able to talk much to your co-diners, but enjoy the music! Long and short, Doc Fords is a must."

"Great casual clean place for food and of course beer. We both had the wedge steak salad and it was very good. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. The value was good. It was a little hot (temperature) and loud. It appeared they had only one bathroom for all customers. When you’re a beer establishment, that’s inadequate."

"The German Knodle is next door to a vegan ice cream shop and we happened to notice on the sign board that they had a couple vegan options, so we gave it a try. They have nice outdoor seating, which is great there in St. Pete. We got the curry vegan sausage and the vegan mushroom sausage. We also got the three sides on offer, which come vegan, as is the saurkraut, fries, and vinegar based potato salad. My favorite was the curry sausage, my partner's favorite was the potato salad. The waiter (possibly the owner) was very nice, but he was also helping with food prep, so it was hard to get his attention at the end of the meal, but we were in no hurry."
