Lovely welcoming atmosphere with a welcoming real fire. We found this place after having a less than welcoming reception in a neighbouring pub! Absolutely will never return! They had no idea if they were serving food or not, should of been a red flag. Scallops black pudding starter came with prawns, no one informed us that would be the case we specifically ordered for the scallops.... View all feedback.
Really lovely pub, very friendly people and atmosphere. Nice to be back in a traditional pub. Meal was the best we have had all week and to top it off the staff and landlady were lovely. Would definitely recommend and come again.
Lovely place, lovely food. Service second to none, nothing to much trouble. We will definitely be going back.
Should have been a hot chicken dinner. Mash was cold, stuffing was even colder probably from fridge. A tiny amount of gravy was served between two of us and told there was no more when I asked.
Called in, as a tourist, for a late lunch. Extremely pleased. The food was excellent good old fashioned pub grub favourites. I’ve got to mention the steak and ale pie. Homemade and to die for. Highly recommended.
Great place. Mix of locals and visitors. Dog friendly. Food was great and selection impressive. Good selection of beers. Decent, comfortable and friendly town pub.
