8/2022: Great service at the bar but not the cleanest bar on a Wednesday night. The bars brass bar needs some TLC. Came in for one a small bite/appetizer, Yu Kwok, and had to order more. Delicious! In 2019 Fat?s received Michelin?s Bib Gourmand in CA. The honey walnut prawns were up next and I was taken to flavor town. But wait! You can?t leave without trying the banana cream pie. It is yummy. Fat Cat?s vs. Chef Vola... View all feedback.
What Natalie O doesn't like about Frank Fat’s:
I literally had no mushrooms in my Szechuan Beef order. The food was also room temperature. It is not worth the price. You might as well go to Panda Express. It would actually be more enjoyable. View all feedback.
Frank Fat's on L St.... absolutely charming, eccentric, hip, classic, retro. We love this restaurant (and have for many years). The food is ALWAYS fresh and fantastic; the service is outstanding. Thank goodness this location survived Covid!!! Be sure to make a reservation.... and enjoy a classic dining experience. We just took a group of 7.... and everyone left happy and full.
A great dinner in Sacramento! We are visiting for a wedding and decided to get dinner here. We had their 83rd anniversary menu and what a delight! The fried rice knocked it out of the park and the steak with onions was so flavorful. Save room for the banana cream pie ? I?m glad I did!

Fat Cat?s vs. Chef Volas, in Atlantic City, Banana Cream Pie would be one hell of a battle. Chef Volas for the win though. Enjoy Cheers!
This has been a great experience. I'm embarrassed to say that I have never been to Frank Fat's. Because I have spent most my life in Sacramento. I have dined ? at other Fat Family Restaurants. Tonight's dinner was everything I was hoping for and more. I came here with two items in mind, the Brandy Fried Chicken and the Banana ? cream ? Pie ?. My wife ordered the Entree Emigrant Beef, which was very good. We also shared a wonderful appetizer ku kwok ,(beef pork Dumpling) wrapped in a wonton wrapper and fried.? We were not disappointed, great service, great table service, hell I haven't had that good of service in this town in a long time. Thank you Heather, our server was great, and all the other staff that makes you feel welcome to the restaurant.
Love the iconic 1939 Sacramento venue! Super vibe! I highly recommend the Honey Walnut Prawns. Save room for banana cream pie!
