"Great atmosphere. We opted to take their outside seating though they have a patio seating at the back of the restaurant. Lots of crowds to watch while dining on a great summer weather. Our server was very nice . There's a lady manager that seems to be not in the mood to deal with patrons but you can ignore her. Everything we ordered were fantastic. Highlights of our dinner was the chocolate cake . Panna cota was okay. Gazpacho was to die for."

"Small place with great character and taste. The staff could have been more friendly. Order your meal, then find a seat. Choose between a couple inside or a few outside. We enjoyed it on the water. Two of us had lobster rolls w/ chips and one had swordfish sandwich with weaponry."

"On our way home from Shelter Island and in the mood for pizza we stopped into 1943. A little hard to find but so glad we did. The pizza was incredibly delicious. There were many choices or create your own but we want with the standard margarita pie and topped it with meatballs. It was delicious! Finished the meal with their home made chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches. Yummy!!!!"
