"Yesterday my wife invited me to La Table to celebrate my 71th birthday. We had been delighted last year by a splendid dinner at the the Thai restaurant in Castigno village, and vowed to have another treat at La Table. We love not to be disappointed by restaurants. We are ready to pay the right price for a decent meal, that is a meal which leaves you not, with the unpleasant feeling that you have been cheated upon. Yesterday, we had the experience of a lifetime. By far the best restaurant meal in our entire life. All the expected ingredients were there : the setting (so tasteful, chic and not overdone in any way), the staff hospitality (here something approaching perfection), and professionalism , discretion and total respect of the customer even when we don’t drink wine! The neatness and comfort of the table etc etc And now, what comes into your plate. I chose to start with a drink however. There is no word to describe the quality and refinement of the appetisers that went with it (provided for two when only one apéritif had been ordered). When booking at La Table, you choose to trust experts with the surprise they have prepared for you. No menu , no carte. Only your choice of three, five or seven dishes. What a clever concept, which can only be based on confirmed professionalism and expertise! You want to take no risk. I will not get into the details of what was served to us yesterday. The appropriate vocabulary and adjectives would fail to convey my feelings and would not do justice to the perfection and level achieved by the two chefs. To put it in a nutshell, I would only say here what I asked the waiters to repeat to the cooks : you do deserve your first star in the Michelin ranking. The second should follow in a not too distant future. It is bound to happen. And of course I had the privilege to congratulate one of the two artists in person upon leaving that magic place. One final point, last but not least, should be made : 38€ for the three course meal of a lifetime just sounds totally unreal. And then, good value for money is utter understatement ... if one day you have 38€ to spend a great (the adjective is weak) experience, book at La Table in Castigno village."

"A friendly small restaurant run by a welcoming husband and wife team; Magnus and Outi. I am vegetarian and my partner vegan and they were happy (with notice) to put together a really interesting vegan 3 course menu. Our friends dining with us were very pleased with the normal meat and fish menu. And all very reasonably priced notably the drinks. All in all a lovely evening"

"Friends took us to this restaurant, recommending it as their favourite in the area and it certainly lived up to their praise! The restaurant has a lovely feel to it, tastefully decorated and good spacing between tables. The meal was just superb, a tasting menu of 7 courses, each one beautifully presented with a delicate blend of different flavours (there is no menu choice). Each dish was explained in detail by the waitress and service was discretely very efficient. Last but not least, this gastronomic delight was only €36 per person, which included a bottle of both red and white wine absolutely superb value! Hats off to the husband and wife team that run this restaurant .... we will definitely be going again!"
