"Initially, we had come on the recommendation of the backpacker, reading the various opinions made us more comfortable in our choice. The setting on the lake edge is beautiful and comes to enjoy the meal. The service is very professional and friendly. The map is unpretentious but the flat houses delight small and large. "My husband and myself had two exceptional evenings and dinners at Chateau de Verriere last October with Chef Michel Belcour. The meals included hors d'oeuvres with champagne, Coquilles St. Jacques (as an example), a delicious vinaigrette green salad, a nice selection of regional cheeses, dessert such Pineapple tart, and of course the perfect wine to accompany the dinner. Chef Belcour was the perfect host. You could not ask for anyone better as both a chef and a person. He was very friendly, accommodating, and informative as far as the dishes he prepared. The restaurant itself is such an amazing place. If you also enjoy antique pieces and paintings, you are in for a treat. My husband and myself (he is American and I am French) highly recommend Chateau de Verriere for dinner (with reservations). You will not be disappointed. Lydie and John T."
