"We were staying very near here and thought we would treat ourselves for the last night of our holiday. We didn't book, and it was nearly a mistake, as we were lucky enough to get the last available table for the evening. The staff are very friendly and the place has a nice relaxed feel to it. But the menu and standard of food is excellent. It's a large menu, and they have several specials each day as well. It's more expensive than other nearby restaurants, but really worth it. Definitely worth a visit, and book if it's high season! Note there is also a small 'kiosk' selling chips / fries and other smaller snacks, perfect if you're on the beach and get hungry."

"We ate in La Cale on Sunday, August 2nd, as late booking, recommended by our host of our accommodation. We were not disappointed really wonderful food and well presented. Not the cheapest, but certainly good quality, and if in the area again... would definitely return."

"My husband and I happened upon Le Bouchon while walking in Bayeux and it was an amazing find. Although we speak no French and the staff for the evening spoke little English, we enjoyed a wonderful glass of wine and the most delicious array of...cheeses and meats. The setting is lovely and the slicer is something to behold. Worth a visit."
